Our valued guests had the opportunity to engage and connect with our dedicated team members, who shared their passion and expertise about the world of whisky. It was a delightful occasion to exchange stories, insights, and the shared love for this exceptional spirit.
Throughout the evening, our guests were treated to a stunning array of Scotland’s most exquisite whiskies and guided through them by whisky expert and influencer Matt Chambers. From the smooth and elegant to the bold and robust, each dram showcased the diversity and craftsmanship that defines Scottish whisky-making.
The event served as a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of whisky and an opportunity to savor its timeless allure in the heart of Edinburgh. Founder and Managing Director Aaron Sparkes, said: “we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended, making the evening a resounding success, and we look forward to welcoming everyone again at future gatherings.”
Matt Chambers commented: “The Whisky 1901 whisky dinners are always great evenings and this one was no different. It is a nice way to meet both new and old clients, and share my passion and knowledge for Scotch whisky with them. This time, and somewhat unintentionally, we discovered that we had some delicious pairings between the whiskies and food – the Glenburgie was superb with the haggis starter while the Benromach 15 years old matched very well with the crème brûlée.”

Cragganmore Distillers Edition
Cracking Cragganmore joins the 2022 collection of the Distillers Edition series, which sees some spectacular single malt double matured in a variety of wine casks. This Speysider has been matured in Port seasoned American oak, bringing a depth of jammy red fruit and gentle sweetness.
Benromach 15 Year Old
A 2015 release to the brilliant Benromach range. The Benromach 15 Year Old is matured in a selection of bourbon and Sherry casks, resulting in an intense but balanced flavour profile. There’s big spices (think ginger, mint and a little sprinkle of cinnamon), there’s juicy fruit (plum and clementine), there’s a touch of smoky charred oak – all well placed and in harmony with each other.
Caol Ila 12 Year Old
Caol Ila 12 Year Old is of medium weight, but still packing plenty of potent phenols, this is a refined, powerful dram with a compensating oiliness. A balanced, peaty beauty.
